There are plenty of people who come into our shop not knowing what to expect from a vehicle wrap. Sure, they know they want to make their trucks and vans visually stunning, but they don’t know how to prepare for the installation, how to take care of the graphic, and so on.
So, we’ve created this list of things you need to know before installing vehicle graphics. Enjoy!
- What’s the Process?
First in line comes the design phase – from the actual design of the visuals you desire to the more technical, vehicle measurement part. From here, your design will go into production: printing and getting laminated for extra protection. Last but not least comes the installation piece, which can be accomplished in as little as one day. If you want a more sophisticated, full-size design, you can expect the installation process to last for several days.
- Do I Have to Prepare My Truck Before Installation?
Yes, you do want your truck to come in clean and tidy. In fact, make it thoroughly clean and tidy since you do not want it to have any dust, wax, oil and any other agent that might impede the vinyl from proper adherence.
- Does It Affect Your Truck’s Paint?
This question is pretty much on everybody’s mind. The answer is NO, given that you opt for a proper installation and removal. The only risks that might be involved are those coming from unprofessional razor blade scratches, from poor adhesion and poor choice of film.
- Is It long Lasting? How Can I Take Care of It?
With a proper installation and good quality, thick film, you pretty much set for the long run. Needless to say, this foundation needs proper care and consideration since day to day road stress can take its toll on it (just as with pretty much all your truck’s equipment). You also want to stay away from high-pressure washing and ice scrapers for the window graphics. Stick to a mild liquid detergent and consider getting a clean and polish vinyl graphics product. Good care will take you a long way.
- Is It Worth the Price?
When it comes to vehicle graphics, they might just be one of the best investments you can make. Though some might love the idea of a custom paint job, risks run high with them sticking to your original paint… well, forever. Great vehicle wraps give you the option to go back to basics (aka, original paint) or to change designs at any times, even if you only want to change or replace it partially.
Not to mention that when it comes to using visuals for advertising, they are some of the lowest cost-per-impression among advertising mediums.
