2016 was a good year for us. It was a year of growing, learning, and overcoming challenges. We were blessed with amazing projects that allowed us to showcase our skills and expertise. We’ve already talked about that in a previous post, so be sure to check that out if you want to find out what we loved the most about 2016.

If December is the perfect time to reflect on the previous year and set goals for the new year,  January is all about kick starting your goals and focusing on accomplishing your New Year’s  resolutions.

After a well-deserved rest during the Christmas holidays, we’re looking forward to a busy 2017. And we know we are starting the year off right with our January project spotlight!

Air Gas Tanker Facelift

While many of our projects are fairly standard now due to our accumulated experience over the years, some offer new challenges that our team is always eager to conquer. Such was the case of a paint job we did for the Linde Group. Not only was the surface we had to repaint and install graphics on enormous, but the client was a well-known global gas and engineering company, so we had to perform even better than usual to be sure we impressed them.

One cold winter morning, a 2006 air gas tanker owned by Linde Group came into our shop.  They have more than 64,000 employees working in over 100 countries, so you know the stakes were extremely high for us. They were interested into a complete facelift — everything from painting to graphics. The project might have sounded easy at first, but when you have such a large surface to paint and install decals on, it takes a lot of concentration and vision to get it right.

The existing paint job was worn out with rust patches all over the body’s surface, so we began the project by pre-painting the gas tanker to look for signs of wearing and dents. We applied corrective measures where the damage was more intense; it’s normal for a carrier of this size that hauls cargo on a daily basis to have some wear and tear.

When we were confident the surface was clean and smooth, we applied multiple coats of white paint. Then, following the client’s request, we moved on to installing the graphics. The graphics we used had the BOC (a member of the Linde Group) logo, tagline, and website, as well as signage with Linde Group’s imagery. The decals were meticulously installed since they had to convey the same level of professionalism that the Linde Group displays.

The Linde Group was more than satisfied with our work and promised to come back with more projects. We are looking forward to working with them again.
